| The harsh reality is that exploitation of workers is only too commonplace in developing countries, and whilst organisations such as Zoos must of course offer proven fast selling products to maintain revenue generation, considerable opportunity exists to develop both ‘fair' and ‘ethical' trading. |

| Worthwhile sustained employment, with commensurate rewards, that affords dignity and self-respect to producers in third world and remote regions, must surely assist to reduce the impact on local wildlife and the environment. |

Paying the agreed price at the agreed time. |

Actively discouraging the use of materials and methods of production that may be detrimental to health, the local environment or wildlife. |

Giving priority to smaller family based workshops and co-operatives. |

Zoos will be offered the opportunity to commit to purchase in sufficient time to arrange production for scheduled delivery dates. |

Where supplies are limited available quantities will be promulgated electronically. |

A level of feedback to suppliers will ensure that planned sustained growth can be effected also that design detail maximises potential. |

Suppliers will deliver goods and invoice direct to Zoos. |
 |
Suppliers submitting merchandise for inclusion will be requested to provide product and production images also adequate information. |

Qualifying product will be identified and promoted by professionally produced ‘Fairer World' point of sale materials and labels. |
